Lan Tran
Fractional Chief Relationship Officer
EXTAG

She brings a practitioner’s lens to automation and workforce transformation in asset-intensive industries across energy, mining and defence, including her work with EXTAG supporting visibility of frontline assets through structured field data.
With a background in anthropology and three decades in commercial roles, she works in environments where incentives, governance settings and risk posture shape how decisions are made — and whether innovation progresses or stalls.
After several years in a senior commercial role at EXTAG, she now operates in a fractional capacity, supporting organisations such as EXTAG — particularly SMEs navigating long-cycle, relationship-driven markets.
She works across complex stakeholder environments to align executives, operators and technology teams, shaping how emerging capability is understood, positioned and taken up — moving initiatives from intent into execution.
In practice, the real constraint is rarely capability — it is assembling the coalition of the willing to carry implementation through, and sustaining the behaviour required to see it through.
Alongside this, she contributes to industry communities including WISER, Women in Defence (WiDA) and Women in Mining and Resources WA (WIMWA), and to discussions on AI and workforce efficiency.
